But after Harry read Dumbledore's note, he could see the house.  So I 
think the invisibility was related to the Fidelius Charm.  I also 
think that JKR was not *nearly* as concerned with the details as we 
are, and she didn't really iron them all out.  (Maybe that is why she 
calls the Fidelius Charm "immensely complex" and gives no details 
about how it is performed!)
