We would? Isn't one of JKR's central theses the contention that "it is 
our choices that make us who we are"? Sounds like she leans towards 
nurture instead of nature in the eternal debate. If Voldemort became 
Diaper!Mort (which I don't think is likely to happen, but is an 
interestingly improbable possibility), then he might, if brought up 
with Love(TM), become a different person to the Voldemort we know and 
hate.
