And who knew more than anyone of Harry's deepest hearts desire but
Dumbledore. If 'The Potters' on the chart were Harry's relatives why would
Dumbledore keep this knowledge a secret from him? Or, like you imply, was
there bad blood in his background that Dumbledore (or anyone close to Harry)
didn't want Harry to dwell on? What immediately came to mind when I wrote
this was Sirius telling Harry in OOP pg. 670 "…and James whatever else he
may have appeared to you, Harry – always hated the Dark Arts." Simply backs
up the fact that Harry is not to dwell on his father (or ancestors ?) as
having anything to do with the Dark Arts lest he feels it's in his blood.
