Do you mean, you understand why Harry was conned by Crouch!Moody? Not 
that it was OK? C!M himself says it is easy to manipulate the innocent 
(was that the word he used?) It was an act to get Harry to LV. Gives a 
new meaning to killing someone with kindness.

He was only being kind or cool in order to get Harry's trust. His 
ultimate goal was get Harry killed and to advance his own standing with 
the Dark Lord.
