Lia muses:

Your use of the word "souless" made something flicker in my
brain.

I know that the prophecy is worded so that it would appear that
one must die at the hand of the other, and I have wondered if
the duel in GOF might be a precursor.

However, in seeing you use that word, I thought of the dementors...
and how Dumbledore told Voldemort that there are some things worse
than death.

Since POA, the Dementors--and their Kiss--have been mentioned
repeatedly. We've seen the Dementors disobey orders and run
rampant before. Could they turn on Voldemort, then?

Lia,
who's aware that this is a farfetched idea and that LV probably
doesn't have good memories for Dementors to feed upon, but...

  Luckdragon:
I once posted a while back that it would be ironic if LV, on the verge of killing Harry, should throw back his head and laugh that cold evil laugh that Harry remembered from the fateful night at Godric's Hollow. The happiness would be too much for the dementors to pass up and they would swoop down and suck out LV's soul.
