And for exactly the same reason Harry wouldn't answer truthfully even if 
Snape had asked him if he was hurt.
And Snape wouldn't trust Harry's answer if the question was "What time 
is it".
Anyway, since when patient's opinion counts for anything? Non-verbal 
diagnostic spell, now, that's different. So who do you know Snape didn't 
run it? :-)
