She said that the date was significant and went on to say that events in the wizarding world were reflected in the muggle world. Therefore I believe she was saying that it was no coincidence that Grindelwald was defeated in 1945 (the date of the end of the 2nd world war). I think she was inferring that Grindelwald was Hitler or at least the wizard controlling him. Sorry, I don't have a link to the interview in question.
