Maybe Snape is DD great, great grandson or something. Maybe Aberforth

  Canon tells us that all pureblood wizarding families are inter-related, so there must be a relationship of some kind. It is possible they are related, but I think the ancestry Jo was referring to was possibly Godric Gryffindor. There sure isn't a family resemblance to go by if they are related.
