I agree with what you are saying about Tom Riddle........I think he would have turned out "bad" anyways........Tom would have eventually figured out he was an Heir of Slytherin and that his father (a muggle) abandoned his pregnant wife........lets face it Merope did revert to using a potion to win the love of Riddle Sr......that is pretty rotten!
