It makes sense. Japanese anime is full of examples where an evil 
character temporarily joins the good guys to fight an even greater evil, 
without losing his or her evil nature, although it tends to be less 
evident in Western literature (where, when evil joins the forces of 
good, it's generally converted). What would this theory be called? The 
ESEDDM!Snape?
