BUT - that was in the part of the prophecy that Voldie never heard.   Either 
Snape didn't hear it (as we & Harry are told), or (as some friends of  mine & 
I have theorized) it was wiped from his memory.  Either way, as  far as Voldie 
was concerned, there was no gender specified in the  prophecy.
