Betsy Hp:
Funnily enough, when Harry does need the twins help they *do* flee.
While their exit in OotP was thrilling and it saved them both from a
flogging, it also meant that they left Harry and co. to deal with a
mess they had a massive hand in stirring up. It also meant that
when Harry really needed help they weren't around to provide it.
So I guess Slytherins flee to protect their necks, and Gryffindors
flee to protect their skins? <g>
