I've read these posts with interest, because I don't think DD ever
really thought about "telling" Harry how to destroy Horcrux(es).
Harry managed very well on his own with the Diary. I think Harry has
an "instinct" and DD recognizes that.
I also think that DD never intentionally thought he was going to die
on the Tower, but he also knew that things could go horribly wrong and
his(DD's) death was something that he made provisions for(with Snape).
In times of War, you need several plans, not just plan A.
