Now Pat:

Nope!  Can't buy this one.  Just a few pages later the only NVBL he's
able to cast is "Levicorpus" and he can't do that one, either, because
Snape stops him in mid-curse and reminds him of how important it will
be for him to be able to do the NVBLs.  I have to say I'm with Carol
on this one.  It had to be someone else, and Snape is certainly in the
realm of possibility.
