For the last book, I went to my friendly neighborhood bookstore,
and ordered it. It came in within a day or two of the release, it was
in perfect condition, there were no line-ups, and I could go to pick it
up at my convenience. I will do the same thing this time. It takes some
of the excitement out of it, and the thrill of having some idiot spill
the beans before you read it, but it certainly is a reliable, relaxed
method of obtaining the book in reasonable time. Plus, it supports your
local book store.
