Hrm... Okay I just had a truly aweful thought.
As any of you know who read my posts I'm a Neville fan... Well
re-reading the prophecy, it occured to me that this line : 

... And either must die at the hands of the other for neither can live
while the other survives...

Well, this isn't about Harry and the Dark Lord... This is reference to
Harry and Neville. Think about their lives. Neither one really has had
one given their circumstances. I think she's telling us, one of them
is going to die at the other's hands (purpose or accident really
doesn't matter) and then the survivor will eliminate the Dark Lord.
