Not certain I was clear then...
In book 5 Harry and Neville were the only ones facing the whole of the
Death Eaters sent for the prophecy. Neville was not going to allow
Harry to continue even though Neville could not properly cast a spell
at that point.

In the battle we see people almost getting hit by stray hexes all over
the place.

I'm quite convinced that in an upcoming battle that it is entirely
possible that Harry accidently kills Neville. This is what tips him
over th edge to actually meaning it when he casts an unforgivable
curse (e.g., AK) to eliminate the Dark Lord once and for all.

We already know that JKR has every intention of killing off characters
in book 7. No matter how badly I want it to be otherwise, I'm coming
to believe that both Harry AND Neville ultimately die to defeat the
Dark Lord for the final time.
