I really do not want to nitpick, but because I saw this several times 
the last few weeks. Harry's birthday is not exactly 6 months before 
Tom's. It were, if Harry was borne at the end of June. But he is born 
in July, the seventh month, and Voldemort's born in December, making 
the difference 5 months.

I think Harry being born in summer does serve as a counterpoint to 
Voldemort's winter birthday. He's also born under the Zodiac sign of 
the Lion, which obviously links him to Gryffindor.
