Here is another vote for DDM!Snape.

I read once about making a diet or to stop smoking, that this is not a 
decision you take and from the next day you are a different person, for 
whom it is easy to eat differently or to not smoke a cigarette, but 
that these are decisions you have to take anew every day. Some days 
it's easier and you don't even think about it and some days it's harder 
and you have to fight against yourself.
And this is how I picture Snape – as DDM!, but at some days fighting 
hard to remain on the "right" side. (And I'm very afraid that in the 
7th book it will cost his life to prove this.)
