True.  But Harry has extremely good reason to doubt DD, whether he in 
fact does or not.  The "epitome of goodness" has the strange habit of 
turning a blind eye to child abuse, after all.  This could also 
simply be another example of DD's habit of behaving like a moron 
where Harry and Snape are concerned.

But, you are right that, in and of itself, this is just another in a 
long and annoying line of DD repeating that he trusts Snape without 
giving an explanation.
