Amiable Dorsai:
About a week, maybe as many as nine days. Certainly not a month.

"I've told her I'll let her out when we get back to London,"
said Hermione. "I've put an Unbreakable Charm on the jar, you see,
so she can't transform. And I've told her she's to keep her quill
to herself for a whole year. See if she can't break the habit of
writing horrible lies about people." GOF

Hermione said that on the train going home, she captured Rita near
midnight on the night of the Third Task. The Lexicon's timeline puts
the Third Task on May 24th, and the ride home on June 2nd.

The timelines are always a bit dodgy, given Jo's... elastic grasp of
time, but I don't see any way Rita could have been in the jar a month.

Even if she had, she would almost certainly have spent more time than
that in Azkaban, a place that gives someone as brave as Hagrid the
collywobbles, had Hermione turned her in. Rita has pissed of a lot of
powerful people over the years.

She got off very easy.
