Now where on Earth is THIS coming from?  DD is going to die, anyway?  
Only in a world organized to free Snape from any responsibility.  The 
potion was "no health drink" I recall.  Nowhere are we told that DD is 
dying or is doomed or will not recover -- indeed, his insistance on 
summoning Snape might well mean that recovery is perfectly possible, 
given correct and timely treatment.

The DEs are, of course, a different proposition.  Could Snape have 
defeated them all, possibly with Harry's help?  Hmmm.  Don't know.
