Don't worry Tonks, you're not loopy yet. :)

It's a very interesting thought.  At the very least JKR could have been 
intrigued by Newton from a young age and decided to include some of 
his theories into her works as a tribute.  I had to do a report on 
Hitler in 6th grade (years ago now) but I found him and his life so 
intriguing that I have continued studying him throughout my life.  

And for the record.  I see HP in everything as well. :)
