 Sure he does, he's the hero. It would be a pretty bad book if the hero didn't get the breaks. Nobody(okay very few) people want to read seven books about Neville losing the passwords and melting cauldrons. People want to see Harry get the breaks thats why nobody is rooting for Voldemort.
