I was wondering if anyone could clear up some confusion.  It's been 
quite some time since I finished reading the 6th book where Dumbledore 
gets killed.  A friend of mine told me that it was Harry that was 
supposed to be killed - but Dumbledore made a deal with Snape to kill 
him instead of Harry.  I don't recall reading this in the book.  Did I 
miss something?

  No, DD was Draco's target from the beginning. If it had been Harry the target in HBP then Draco could have off'd him in the train after he Petrificus Totalised him. Voldemort wants to kill Harry himself. It would take the fun out of it if someone else did it!
