   If you want to believe Dumbledore is alive he can be.  
   Reread HBP with Dumbledore's animagus as a spider, his patronis as 
a phoenix and with the transfiguration of Wormtail to look like 
Dumbledore.  I believe a wizard can transfigure another wizard as 
long as they are present, otherwise like a spring stretched they will 
retake their original form when the force is no longer applied.
