I disagree with you Betsy, I don't think for an instant that
McGonagall mistreats Harry nearly as much as Snape. After all, let's
not forget that Snape never complimented poor Neville. And
McGonagall, while very strict with Neville and everyone in her house,
has at least complimented Neville. That's more than Snape can ever
say. I think we're forgetting the quote that says in HBP when the
students are geting their Newt schedules that McGonagall says to
Neville that his grandmother should be proud of the grandson that she
has and not who she doesn't have. Or something like that. Don't have
the book in front of me. But that's my main point, that McGonagall,
while strict and firm has at least complimented Neville and that's
more than Snape can say.
