Well, we know he has at least ONE happy memory. If he hasn't had one
all his life, I'm sure his occlumency lessons with Harry provided a
few for him. Can you imagine how much he was laughing inside seeing
Aunt Marge's dog chase Harry up the tree?
As for his patronus, I don't think it would be anything obvious like a
snake or a bat. JKR said it would give away some of the plot so it
has to be something that people who think he's totally evil wouldn't
expect ... like the suggestion that it's a phoenix or Lily Potter (who
I think he did secretly admire very much, if not love).
