Magpie:
Actually, I don't recall Umbridge doing that.  I thought she abolished 
everything and said anyone who wanted to come to her about starting whatever 
club had been abolished could do so. The Slytherins were, iirc, merely the 
first to go and see her to get their Quidditch team started up again. 
Gryffindor still had a team throughout the year. (Note: not meant as a 
defense of Umbridge, but as a factual point.)
