Because it's Dumbledore!!!    All powerful, amazing, unbelievable Dumbledore.  Can you honestly have expected anything different?
That is truly what I think, it had to be huge, for DD, he couldn't have just fallen.

On that note though, how come sometimes expelliarmus just takes the wand, and other times, people are thrown with it too?
