I fully agree. I think that the current war with Harry is focused as
much on revenge and anger than on any basis in prophecy. Voldemort
lost nearly everything trying to destroy Harry and yet Harry lives.
Voldemort could very well be after Harry as much (if not more) out of
retaliation and a spirit of vengeance than in response to any
prophecy. Voldemort, having never heard the full prophecy himself,
may not even know the full extent of how closely tied his fate is to
Harry's.
There is no reason at all that Neville could be dead at this moment
if there hadn't been such a fiasco at the Potter's.
