Snape didn't make the Unbreakable Vow

Carrie :  A few months ago, I reread Spinner's End (Which I think is a very clever chapter title in a book where a giant spider dies).  I noticed that at the bottom of page 31 in the American hard cover, 'Snape' says:
  "....But through all these years, he has never stopped trusting Severus Snape..."
  IMO, it is worded oddly.  It made me wonder if someone was impersonating Snape.
