It's almost a consensus here that the barman at the Hog's Head is
Aberforth Dumbledore. It's based on his description and what appears to
be JKR's acknowledgement of his identity in an interview.
Harry doesn't know that, of course. We do and I suppose many others in
the WW know it as well. As to the funeral, we have this, after a long
line of names of people Harry recognised, "...and some people whom
Harry merely knew by sight, such as the barman of the Hog's Head and
the witch who pushed the trolly on the Hogwarts Express."
Because we only know what Harry knows, we weren't told it was DD's
brother. No one mentioned it to Harry. But I'm sure most of the other
members of the funeral knew who he was.
