 I just wanted to comment by saying that the conversations that you are
having on this site are great. I am an avid Harry Potter fan. I am
rereading the books now.

I was very intrigued by the topic on how much does Dumbledore know? I
think he knows a lot that goes on at the school. I think that with all
the magical objects and people at Hogwarts they have a lot of respect
for him even if they don't like him.

I also think that he does not waste his time with unnecessary words, he
uses his words carefully. I think he treats Potter as a parent or an
adult sometimes treats a child. We give them the information that they
need at the time. Sometimes when you receive too much at one time your
brain goes into overload. I think Dumbledore knows that.
