  If there is a point where he feels his security with LV is compromised, he will change sides.  We know this.  He hid as a rat for 12 years.  He was scared of both sides.  He then went back to LV because he was scared of the dementors as well as Sirius and Lupin.

  So.. Keeping his past actions in mind, he may very well come to Harrys aid in the end.  Maybe in his warped brain as a tribute to James and Lily.  Maybe just in hopes of surviving.
