a question on PS/SS

I am unsure if this was raised before, but I was
listing to an MP3 of PS/SS and a question did strike
me.....what DID happen to those letters Hagrid said he
sent to Harry?  Hagrid did state to Harry that he sent
letters to Harry over the years and it did strike to
me as to what happend to them and if they were swiped,
who did the swiping?
