 A newbie to the group and saw this post.  I agree with this theory.
Remember also that the wands cannot work against each other; when they
are used, previous spells are 'regurgitated'.  Harry has to find a
means other than magical and a thoroughly Muggle way is very probably
the only way to finish off LV - and he would definitely be bitter about
that.
