Eddie:
Yep, it's canon.  Chapter 28, "Snape's Worst Memory" Draco says to
Snape, "They've found Montague, sir, he's turned up jammed inside a
toilet on the fourth floor."

Eddie, who's not some wizened Potter nut, but just happened to have
looked this up recently.
