I think he'd avoid it.  I've just finished reading Book 6 for the 2nd time
and the conversation between Dumbledore and Harry about how LV became less
and less human the more he split his soul struck me.  I think Harry would
avoid it because of that, and he'd avoid it simply because it's the path LV
took.
