True, but SS gave himself that title, so assuming (just for the sake
of argument) that he is LV's son, he probably thought (and would still
think) he is Tobias Snape's son.
Very intriguing theory, I love it, but can't allow for it; SS probably
would have ended up more conventionally handsome, for one thing. It
certainly makes for some interesting speculation. If SS was the hero
of the series, rather than HP, I'd say chances of him turning out to
be LV's son would be pretty good. Very mythic -- son growing up
unaware of his true father and setting out to defy or kill him
(Oedipus, Cuchulain/Connla, Luke Skywalker, etc.) It would be a nice
symmetry too, as Riddle killed his own father. Of course, with LV
being obsessed about physical immortality, and wary of anyone who
might be more powerful than him, I suspect he'd have been careful not
to spawn any Dark Lordlings, and if he had, would have "taken care of
them" -- in the Sicilian sense of the word -- before they had the
chance to say (pardon the pun) "Dada!"
Appealing as that is, last I heard, Harry is the hero, and JKR has a
hard time believing so many of her readers like SS so much (blame Alan
Rickman, I say), so I'm betting that won't be the big surprise in the
7th book.
