Julie:
The Scholastic trade paperback edition of HBP that came
out earlier this year has that passage amended to "12 
hours worth" thus matching the Bloomsbury edition. I 
can only assume it was an editing error in the original
Scholastic hardback version. It was meant to be 12 hours
all along.
