Alla:
Hmmm, Moody is an interesting thing. I am trying to remember what was
my emotional reaction about him when I read the book the first time
and while I do not remember everything for sure, I remember one
thing - I did not sympathise with Fake Moody fully either.
Of course I did not suspect that he was a villain or anything like
that, he was just, I don't know - too cold for me, I guess.
Again, I cannot guarantee that this was my reaction after the first
read, since I had plenty of time to read it again and again and
again, but I think so.
It is like while I could respect the character, I guess, I did not
feel much for him either.
Even when he tells Harry that he would make a good auror, something
that would help me sympathise with the character a great deal ( a
genuine affection for Harry), for some reason that did not do the
trick either.
As I said, do not want to give an impression that I suspected
anything, certainly not, but even in the case of Moody that was not a
complete reversal either.
But when we discovered real Moody, who spent several months in the
truck, helpless, bound, etc. Oh, YES - when I imagined this hardened
in the battles, tough Auror who could not do anything about what
happened , then when I was able to sympathise with Real Moody.
JMO,
Alla
