face it, he isn't the brightest man? I suspect Eileen comes in to play
here. If she had reason to believe that Tom Riddle was the culprit,
not Hagrid, and didn't manage to keep Hagrid from being kicked out of
school I could see her pulling a 'Hermione' and continuing Hagrid's
education on her own.
