 Jim,

 Very nice this theory of Harry's scar to be a horcrux itself. 
I've never think about it. But if it's so, Ms. JK has just 
prepared the death of Harry Potter since the very first book 
because the horcrux (Harry) must be destroyed in order to get 
Voldemort destroyed too.
