Hi Erica,
    I tend to disagree with that theory too. The
reason I feel like this is that we all know that Lord
Voldemort was trying to kill Harry that night and it
all backfired. Also in the graveyard when Harry was at
their mercy he could have used the scar horcrux but
opted for a different one. But that doesn't mean I'm
right.
