I found the part you were talking about on JK's website where she says 
that Squibs can't see dementors. But Mrs. Figg does state in the book 
that she could see the dementors. This makes JK's statement a 
contradiction. Isn't the first time ol' Jo has done this, probably 
won't be the last.

No, I remember when she appears in front of the Wizengamot that she gives a description that sounds like she's seen a picture or heard a description (I don't have the books with me... It's from memory) and Harry thinks she sounds silly but then she describes the feeling. That's where she nails it on the head. Even Dudley feels it. And, I think Sirius (could be wrong on the character) mentions that Muggles can feel them but can't see them.

So, no contradictions with JKR. She's just tricky like that.
