Don:

-I don't really think that  he is that good at the things that is
said. First off if that was true that he was a great as they say,
why hasn't he rid himself of Harry or any of the other ones? He has
had many chances and it would have put him in favor with the Dark
Lord. Also his father is always on his back about things. So you
would think that they would have used those powers by now. But then
again there wouldn't be much of a story if he did. Now when it came
time to use his powers he froze and Snape had to help him out. So I
think all of his so called power came from the help of Snape and his
father.
