Seems very plausible. The only thing I cannot figure out is whether
Dumbledore told either couple about the prophecy. Dumbledore at one
point says that 'truth is a very dangerous thing' (paraphased) and of
course he goes to a great deal of effort to tell Harry that the
prophecy is nothing until actions gave it meaning - Dumbledore even
states that many prophecies never come true.

All of this begs the question, if Dumbledore says actions give the
prophecy meaning - would have have avoided all action himself?
Dumbledore is a card player - he plays the cards he has been dealt and
very seldom tries to manipulate events. He reacts to things others do
and help they offer - I cannot think of many times that Dumbledore has
asked someone to do something dangerous. Only Snape comes to mind,
actually. And there we assume, like Harry and the cave excursion,
Snape had offered first.

I'm suspicious that Dumbledore invented Fidelius and perhaps only he
(and Lily?) knew how to cast it....this would be how it was kept out
of Voldemort's hands so the horcrux hunt can succeed.
