Of course, I like this too. I come from the Body/Mind/Soul arguments.  
Ghosts are imprints of Mind. Peeves is an elemental force "embodied"  
- not really a ghost.

And it fits in with my idea of Magic as Projection. Mind is projected  
onto the world, Thoughts are manifest as Patronus. Ford Anglias are  
repositories of magically projected thoughts. Potions also are a  
result of projections of the magic of their ingredients. The wizard  
can 'embody' thought into the formula.

Portraits as a kind of non-liquid potion magic but made with paint.
