Thank you for the quote! What can I say? JKR's poltergeist is 
definitely not that teenager with psychic powers that you mention 
(sorry I snipped it). In her world it's something different, more 
like a personification of chaos, or something like that. 

I forgot to comment on the ghost part of your previous post. It's not 
completely true that they can't interact with material world (I mean 
of course JKR's ghosts). For example, in CoS, when Moaning Murtle 
dives into a toilet, she splashes water all over the room ("The 
Writing on the Wall", p. 119 if you have British ed.). If she is able 
to displace water, it means that she interacts, right? I can be wrong 
of course, as I know very little about physics and ghosts in 
general :-).
